Clewiston, Florida (PRWeb) 27 Ιανουαρίου του 2012
For most people in the United States in February, when it is slightly warmer days begin to appear in place of the fading winter. But the best professional bass planet, February means a hot bite, big bass and the beginning of another exciting season FLW Tour.
The Wal-Mart FLW Tour on Lake Okeechobee presented by Evinrude will visit Clewiston, Florida, February 9 to 12 for the first tournament of the 17th season. Hosted by Roland & Mary Ann Martins Marina & Resort, the tournament will have a full scope of benefits worlds best bass and co-anglers casting for top awards up to $ 125,000 in cash in the Pro Division and up to $ 25,000 in cash the Co-angler Division.
FLW Tour anglers havent competed in Lake Okeechobee from the February 2011 season opener, and National Guard pro Scott Martin is eagerly anticipating the kickoff years. The resident of Clewiston caught in these waters for many years and knows them like the back of his hand. Martin also has some momentum behind the tournament, too. He won the 2011 Forrest Wood Cup and $ 600,000 in August on Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, Ark.
Fishing is something impressive from the day we left (last year), said Martin, who owns five top-10 finishes and a victory on Lake Okeechobee. The fishing got better. And best of all stayed throughout the spring and summer, and never slows down, and now he was back again in the spring and fish are just bigger. There seems to be more of them and more than 30 lb bags weighed in at local events now than Ive ever seen. The potential for the fact that some of the records fall is likely.
Im
in shorts and a T-shirt as we speak, Martin said. The water temperature was very consistent. We havent had a big cold front at all, so these fish are really going to start laying and actually be active this week.
Martin said he expects the tournament to concentrate on spawning bass baits and reversal, however, added that the fishermen will present opportunities to use various techniques and baits. When asked about the Alabama platform, the hot-topic controversial system of bait that got the world tournament by storm in recent years Lake Guntersville Tour event, Martin offered his opinion without hesitation.
not think the rig Alabama will be a factor, Martin said.
as the reigning Forrest Wood Cup champion, you would think that it has a target on his back and every fisherman in the area will be looking to dethrone him, but Martin doesn’t think thats the case.
This is Lake Okeechobee, Martin said. Theres so many good places to fish right now in this lake and so many different ways to catch them that Im going to have really put my thinking cap and buckle down and find the winning design and the winning fish . Theres going to be many children catch them.
Tournaments are tournaments, Martin said. These guys arent focusing on hitting. Fishing is fishing. The Youve got to beat the fish. That’s what always boils down to. I dont think they have a target on my back to say the least. Everybodys going to go against the fish. Children fish in fish are the children going to do well. Children fish to try to win another fisherman thats the wrong attitude.
