The dishes used by the satellite companies are much smaller than that. They’re about 10 to 20 inches wide, depending on the specific model you need – way smaller than 1m (~39 inches).

We have Dish Network satellite television and we keep finding these recordings that we never recorded. We think someone might be stealing our dish and recording shows that they want to watch. Is there any way to be sure?

Impossible. Even if someone stills your Dish (you should see cables going to another house/appartment), they can’t store their recordings in your PVR!
Go and check all your Timers and your schedule.
Check also the times of the recordings. Were you at home? Was someone else at home during that time? Either the box is going cookoo or you have some unknown visitors.

I moved into a new place and there is a direct dv dish on my deck the full dish is there, the cables, the metal box the cables come into and then out of. The only thing I don’t have is the receiver. Is there anything I can do with this set up?
