Question by Jamie: Dish network remote programming?
Can’t get my Dish Network remote to change the channel on the Dish?
My old Dish remote broke so I got a new one. It is the 20.0 IR remote and I got it programmed to control my tv so that works and everything but I can’t get it programmed to change my channel on the Dish box. I have the 625.

On the front right hand side of your 625 receiver there is a door panel. If you open that up you will see some buttons, press the one that says “System Info” and this will bring you to the screen that you can program the remote on. Once you are on this screen press and hold the SAT button until all the buttons light up and let go. The SAT button will be flashing, and all you will have to do is press the record button 3 times. If you did this correctly you can press the cancel button and it take you off the screen. If you need any further assistance please feel free to email me directly.

Question by Buffalo Soldier: Remote Control not working after Dish Network’s remote was setup for my TV?
I have a Toshiba 42HP82 42″ Plasma HDTV – the dish guys installed their box with this TV, and enabled their remote to work with my TV. This has completely killed my TV’s remote control – it doesn’t respond at all to my TV. How can I reset it?

There is no way the Dish guys did anything wrong to either your TV or the TV remote.
They simply programmed a code on the Dish remote to turn on/off your TV and adjust volume. This has no effect on the TV or the original remote.

Is your TV’s a TV-only remote or a universal remote? If a TV-only remote, check the batteries.
If a universal remote, make sure you have selected ‘TV” and not DVD or other option.
